The question of what constitutes an ‘original’ when it comes to choreography, is distinctly different than what the term means in almost every other art form.
The only notion of an ‘original’ that can be applied when it comes to choreography, is to be found in every single rendition of a choreographic thing while it is happening.
Relating to a choreographic work as something that has one distinct state that can be defined as the official, original version of the work, means it’s no longer a choreographic thing as what it requires, is a constant allocation of all of the creative ressource into blocking a living thing from changing and evolving.
Choreography is an endless process of generating singular originals.
